Re: Emotional Reactions to the Events at Virginia Tech University
A few days ago the tragic events that occurred at Virginia Tech University left profound damage in their wake.
If you are experiencing a personal reaction to this tragic event, CAPS is available to help. CAPS provides immediate consultation and counseling for registered students between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. CAPS staff members are available to help you discuss your feelings about these tragic events.
You may experience a variety of emotions as a result of the tragic events at Virginia Tech. We have posted on our website information about some of the reactions you may experience including grief, stress and resilience. We hope this information will help you understand and cope with your feelings. Of course you can contact CAPS if your feelings are overwhelming and you would like our assistance. CAPS is located on the second floor in North Hall. Call 752-0871 then “0” if you would like to make an appointment with a CAPS staff member.
