SPOTLIGHT ON CAPS PROGRAMS
Below are some randomly selected CAPS programs. Click here to refresh the selections.
Individual Counseling
CAPS provides free, confidential, short-term therapy to registered UCD students. The initial appointment will help clarify your needs and direct you to appropriate services. If short-term individual counseling is recommended, an appointment will be made with a staff member as soon as possible.
Stress & Wellness Clinic
The Stress and Wellness Clinic is a Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) sponsored program designed to address student needs specific to stress and anxiety. The clinic offers counseling services and outreach aimed to provide students with strategies and information to help decrease symptoms of stress and increase overall sense of wellness.
The Stress & Wellness Clinic offers individual and group counseling services to registered UC Davis students dealing with stress and/or anxiety. Students meet with a Stress & Wellness Clinic counselor for a screening appointment to assess stress symptoms and the impact of stress on daily life. Students are then assigned to a treatment protocol that meets stress and anxiety reduction needs. Group and individual treatment modalities pull from empirically supported cognitive-behavioral, relaxation, and mindfulness-based treatments. Students begin with introductory groups on basic stress reduction and coping techniques. They are then given the opportunity to advance to groups that build upon their stress reduction skill set and more directly integrate principles of mindfulness and mind-body wellness.
In order to utilize our services, we ask that you meet with one of our Stress and Wellness counselors for a screening appointment. During this screening appointment, we will explore your concerns and determine a treatment protocol tailored to your stress and anxiety reduction needs. In order to schedule this appointment, please call CAPS 752-0871 or stop by CAPS reception in 219 North Hall.
